The full title is the 3rd Solid-State Battery Intelligent Manufacturing and Industry Chain Innovation Forum, held together with the 7th National Symposium on Advanced Battery Failure Analysis and Testing Technology. It is hosted by the Tianmu Lake Institute of Advanced Energy Storage Technologies and the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center with Jiangsu Lufa, and brings in 24 co-organising companies. Chen Liquan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is Honorary Chairman.

Its premise is that solid-state batteries have moved past the question of whether a sample can be made, to whether they can be manufactured at scale with low cost, high consistency and high reliability — and that precise diagnosis of interface failure, thermal runaway and pressure dependence now matters as much as the cell chemistry itself.

That is the ground we work on. The third of the forum’s four tracks covers failure analysis, in-situ characterisation and quality control, which is what H.E.L’s battery testing range is built for: adiabatic calorimetry to quantify thermal runaway from cell components through to complete packs, and isothermal calorimetry to measure heat generation alongside charge and discharge cycling.

Going to Liyang?

Let us know and we will find time to talk during the forum.
