Software

The H.E.L WinISO software runs every reactor with fully independent, automated control — advanced strategies from sensor feedback, time-based profiles or event detection, with real-time logging and .csv export.

Fully customizable, it controls the complete range of process parameters — temperature, stirrer speed, dissolved oxygen, pH, pressure, gas feeds & mix, liquid feed rates, biomass, off-gas analysis and foam & level detection.

Frequently asked questions

What is the BioXplorer 400P used for?
A bench-top, four-reactor high-pressure platform for gas-dependent bioprocesses — syngas fermentation, cell-free enzymatic processes, CO₂ biomanufacturing and Power-to-Liquid, through to SAF development.
Is the system customizable to my process?
Yes. Every BioXplorer 400P is configured to your requirements — probes, sensors, gas and liquid feeds are all specified around your application. Customisation to the customer’s process is central to H.E.L’s approach.
How many reactors and what working volume?
Four parallel, independently-controlled stainless-steel reactors with working volumes of 120–400 ml, fully autoclavable including sensors.
What is the maximum pressure?
Each reactor runs at up to 10 bar, with dual gas spargers per reactor to minimize hazardous-gas-mixture risk — ideal for pressure- and gas-dependent bioprocesses such as syngas fermentation.
What temperature and agitation does it offer?
0 to 135 °C with 0.1 °C resolution, with a choice of magnetic stirring (250–1500 rpm) or overhead agitation (20–2000 rpm).
What does the control software do?
The H.E.L WinISO software gives fully independent control of all bioprocess parameters across all four reactors: from automated stirring to complex sensor-driven gas and liquid additions, with real-time logging and .csv export.
What analytics and monitoring options are available?
pH (0–14) as standard, with optional dissolved-oxygen sensing, BioVIS cell-density monitoring and foam/level detection; a wide gas-calibration range supports air, O₂, N₂, H₂, CO, CO₂ and methane; optional Tandem off-gas analysis for OUR, CPR and RQ.
Does the system integrate PID control?
The BioXplorer platform utilizes precise proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control loops via WinISO software to manage crucial bioprocess parameters like temperature, gas flow and liquid feeds.
